Furnace Operative in Blackburn
Rapid Recruit are recruiting a Vacuum Operation Technician/Furnace Operative for our client based in Blackburn.
Key Responsibilities
- – Running a small department of 3 furnaces. operating all vacuum furnaces correctly and in strict adherence to the correct operating procedures, in order to optimise throughput and continuously improve quality by minimising unproductive downtime and producing maximum furnace returns
- – To book repeat work onto AMS ready for processing
- – Test and inspect repeat work through inspection, ensure all work is released with the right paperwork/job pack and to the correct procedure
- – Ensure customers’s components are returned in a clean and well-presented manner and are properly packed to avoid damage during transit
- – Over check orders against PS documentation and provide booking in and out, and inspection cover as required to meet customer needs/process turnaround.
- – Ensure that all equipment is operated according to the correct operating procedures and always work in a safe manner that does not endanger yourself, your colleagues or the plant
- – To ensure that immediate working areas are maintained in a clean, tidy condition to promote efficient working practices, and to ensure all equipment is left clean, tidy and in working order at the end of the shift
- – Ensure the maintenance malfunction/breakdown reporting system is adhered to , by logging and informing Maintenance personnel and/or manager, of any equipment failure at the earliest opportunity in order to minimise the impact of the furnace downtime
- – Assist in the Induction and Training & Development of team members/new starters
Position Details
his role is working on a day shift, 7:30am-4:15pm Monday to Friday. However, flexibility would be necessary as you could be asked to work nights/weekends as cover.
The rate of pay is £12:30 per hour while training and can increase to up to £13.30 per hour.
Qualifications
The ideal candidate will have prior experience within a similar role, demonstrating proficiency in the tasks mentioned above.
- Good understanding of the Groups IT systems, including AMS
